Encrypted Chat for Two
Messages only the two of you can read
A private chat between the two partners in a dynamic. Each message is encrypted on your phone before it is sent, so the Kneel server stores only ciphertext it cannot read. React to messages, see when a message was read, and report a safety issue from the chat. Chat needs a partner, so it does not show in solo mode, and it is in the phone app only. A Premium feature; any partner's Premium unlocks it.
Everyday texting apps mix your dynamic with everything else on your phone, and their notifications can show what you wrote. Kneel's chat keeps these conversations in the same private app as the rest of your dynamic, encrypted end to end.
Capabilities
End-to-end encryption
Messages are sealed on your device with a key the two of you share. The server never sees the text. On a new device, some older messages may not be readable.
Read receipts
Each of your messages shows Sending, Sent, or Read.
Reactions
React with one of six icons: heart, crown, lightning, rose, spark, or hand. Each person has one reaction per message.
Quiet notifications
Your partner gets a push that says a message arrived. The message text is never in the notification.
Safety report
Report a safety issue from the chat header. It opens private support.
Room to write
Send up to 4,000 characters in one message.
